The Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) inaugural webinar titled “Youth Bulge and Demographic Dividend: Harnessing their Economic Development Potentials in Kenya”, was held on Tuesday, 13th August 2024 in Nairobi. It commenced with illuminating remarks from the CEO, Brig (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, PhD, EBS. This was followed by presentations from the researchers; Dr John Mwangi and Dr Peter Kirui. High level discussants interrogated the key issues. They included Amb. Salah Hammad, Head of AGA-APSA Secretariat at the Africa Union. Others were Ms. Emmy Auma, Country Director – Kenya and Horn of Africa from International Alert, Prof. Macharia Munene, PhD, Diplomacy, Geopolitics, and Foreign Relations lecturer-United States International University-Africa, Dr. Constance Gikonyo, PhD, Law Expert – University of Nairobi and Ms. Sherry Omulako, Youth Governance expert. The event was moderated by Dr. Willis Okumu, PhD, Senior Researcher- Institute for Security Studies (ISS), Nairobi. Closing reflections were delivered by Amb David Gacheru, board member of MRPC.
