On September 4, 2025, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) had the privilege of hosting Amb Maj Gen (Rtd.) George Owino, the interim chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) in South Sudan. He was on a familiarization tour of the Centre to better understand its operations, capacity within the security foresight domain and potential areas of  future collaborations.
