Mashariki Research and Policy Centre was honoured to participate in the 26th World Korea Forum, held for the first time in Africa at the University of Nairobi on 6–7 August 2025. The forum brought together leaders, academics, policymakers, and diplomats from Africa, Asia, and Europe to discuss Africa’s evolving role in a multipolar global order and explore opportunities for deeper Africa–Korea cooperation.
The two days discussions covered lessons from Korea’s industrialization, structured South–South collaboration, great power competition, smart city development, and the role of diaspora networks in shaping policy and mobilizing development finance. MRPC looks forward to applying these insights in our research and policy advisory work to strengthen Eastern Africa’s strategic positioning in global policy dialogues.
