
On 8th July 2025, The Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) team hosted Dr. David Mickler, PhD, Associate Professor of International Relations – School of Media, Creative Arts & Social Inquiry (MCASI), Faculty of Humanities and Dean Global, Africa in the Office of the DVC Global from Curtin University during his strategic engagements in Kenya. The meeting was chaired by Brig (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, CEO of MRPC and attended by Dr. Solomon Njenga, PhD, Mr. Sammy Kwinga, Mr. Joseph Kiarie, Felistus Kandia and Ms. Grace Musolo from MRPC.

The MRPC team held fruitful discussions with Dr. Mickler exploring potential research collaborations in maritime security, governance, climate change, and diplomacy. Dr. David reiterated Curtin University’s commitment to foster strategic partnerships with like-minded institutions, aiming to build the Australia and Africa relations in security and diplomacy. MRPC remains dedicated to addressing regional and global challenges through a forward-looking approach to security.
