MRPC Participates in the Regional Forum on Transitional Justice and Reconciliation in Ethiopia

On 21–22 May 2026, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) participated in strategic discussions on Transitional Justice and Reconciliation (TJ&R) during the “Cross-Learning and Knowledge Sharing Workshop” held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The regional engagement also marked the official launch of the Regional Civil Society Platform on Transitional Justice and Reconciliation (TJ&R).

The workshop was co-hosted by the Life and Peace Institute (LPI), Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR), and Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR).It  convened participants from across the Horn of Africa region, including Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, and Somalia,Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to deliberate on TJ frameworks and processes, as well as the critical involvement of marginalized communities.

MRPC was represented, Ms. Grace Musolo, who delivered insights during a panel discussing topic titled, “Taking Stock of the Current TJ Landscape in Countries Across the Horn of Africa: Experiences, Unique Challenges, and Best Practices of CSOs and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Engagement with National, Regional, and International TJ&R Initiatives.”

MRPC’s participation reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to advancing a secure and prosperous African region through the acceleration of security policy dialogues, regional cooperation, and inclusive peacebuilding initiatives.
