The Mashariki Research and Policy Centre participated in the 2024 Africa Borderlands Research Network (ABORNE) Conference held from 11 to 13 September and themed on ‘Resilience and Borderlands Agropastoralists: The Roles of Mobility, Labor Diversification, Social Cohesion, Peace, and Security in Regional Integration.’
The conference was co-organized by the UNDP African Borderlands Centre (ABC), and the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC). It was held at the IPSTC Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) in Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya.
MRPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, PhD, EBS, and Head of Research, Dr. John Mwangi, participated in the conference. The conference explored research and policy interventions critical to securing Africa’s borderlands.
