MRPC Participates in Climate Security Dialogue on Conflict, Resilience, and Development in Kenya and Sudan

The Mashariki Research and Policy Centre participated in the Climate Security conference themed “Bridging the Divide: Climate, Conflict, And Community Resilience”, which aimed to examine the intersection of climate change, conflict, and resilience in the Kenya and Sudan context. The two-day hybrid event was hosted by the Life and Peace Institute in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) and SMC Faith in development from 11th to 12th June 2025 at the Global Trade Center (GTC) in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr. Solomon Njenga, PhD, Director of Research, and Ms. Hannah Mukami, Research Assistant, from MRPC were in attendance alongside other peace, security and conflict practitioners drawn from government, academia, think tanks, interfaith-based organizations and private sector.

The forum explored the climate–food–conflict nexus, community resilience, environmental action, and collaborative efforts related to sustainable development.
