On 31 August 2026, the Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) was honoured to participate in the World Bank High-Level Dialogue, themed “Delivering Results for More and Better Jobs in a Changing Development Landscape,” co-hosted by the African Development Bank Group and the Islamic Development Bank Group at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.

The high-level event brought together distinguished government officials, diplomats, private-sector representatives, think tanks, academics, and policy practitioners from across the globe. The dialogue featured notable speakers, including Professor Eldar Shafir of Princeton University, Hon. John Mbadi, Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, and Ndiame Diop, World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa.

The policy dialogue explored the interconnected threats and opportunities shaping development outcomes globally, Kenya’s foundational frameworks for advancing a just and inclusive economy, and opportunities to strengthen national, regional, and global leadership to deliver transformational results despite resource and capacity constraints. The discussions further highlighted the importance of creating quality jobs, advancing digitalization and enabling infrastructure, and fostering innovative partnerships to promote inclusive and sustainable development.

MRPC reaffirms its commitment to shaping pathways to employment opportunities, advancing infrastructural security, and strengthening global partnerships through evidence-based research and foresight analysis.
