MRPC Hosts ADAK Chairman for Strategic Consultation on Integrity in Sport

On 9 April 2026, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC), a security foresight evidence-based think tank based in Nairobi, hosted Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Aphaxard Muthuri Kiugu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK), at the Centre’s premises.

Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage,PhD, CEO of MRPC, together with staff members, held consultations with Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Kiugu focused on identifying potential areas of collaboration to strengthen integrity systems in sport.

Proposed collaboration areas include research and analysis, operational support and delivery, capacity building and training, policy and regulatory strengthening, as well as education and awareness.

Specific discussions focused on possible development of an Anti-Doping Risk Prioritization Index, joint research on doping risk factors, review of policy and regulatory frameworks to enhance compliance as well as the strengthening of testing protocols, data integration and results management.

The meeting underscored the value of partnerships that combine data analysis influenced policy, technical expertise, and institutional collaboration to support preventive approaches, strengthen sport governance credibility that contribute to safeguarding integrity within Kenya’s sport ecosystem.
