Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) is pleased to announce the signing of a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding with Green Africa Foundation (GAF) and the Kenya Climate Change Working Group (KCCWG) on 15 April 2026 at its offices in Nairobi.
The MoU was signed by MRPC Chief Executive Officer, Brig. (Rtd) Dr Robert Kabage, and GAF Executive Director, Mr John Kioli, who also serves as Chairman of KCCWG, in the presence of staff representatives from the three organisations.
The agreement establishes a collaborative framework to advance research, dialogue, and capacity-building on climate change and environmental security. Key areas of cooperation include joint research, policy engagement platforms, and targeted capacity-building initiatives-ranging from training and fellowships to co-authored policy outputs.
Dr Kabage and Mr Kioli expressed optimism that the MoU marks the beginning of a meaningful and sustained partnership.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening evidence-based policy responses to climate-related risks affecting peace, governance, and sustainable development.
