The Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) participated in the two-day Nairobi Security Symposium held from 19–20 November 2025 at the Trade Mark Hotel, Nairobi. The symposium was hosted by the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation’s Regional Programme Security Dialogue for East Africa (SIPODI EA).

MRPC Associate Fellow, Dr. Elijah Munyi, PhD, was an expert panelist on “The U.S. Role in Power Competition in East Africa.” Discussions at the symposium also focused on “Geopolitics, Geoeconomics and Power Projections in East Africa,” examining how geographic factors shape global power dynamics, political relationships, territorial interests, international relations, and global markets.
