On 22 June 2026, Prof. Tim Murithi, Head of the Peacebuilding Interventions Programme at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR), paid a courtesy visit to Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) for strategic consultations on strengthening collaboration in peacebuilding, transitional justice, and reconciliation across Greater Eastern Africa.
The meeting was chaired by MRPC Chief Executive Officer, Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, and brought together members of the Centre to explore opportunities for deeper institutional cooperation through evidence-based research, policy dialogue, capacity building, and strategic advisory initiatives that contribute to peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
Discussions also examined the role of home-grown solutions in addressing complex regional challenges, strengthening the capacity of emerging professionals and security practitioners, and advancing inclusive and locally driven approaches to peacebuilding and reconciliation.
The engagement underscored the value of leveraging institutional expertise, strategic partnerships, and professional networks to generate policy-relevant knowledge, support informed decision-making, and contribute to lasting peace and stability across the region and beyond.
