MRPC and International IDEA Advance Strategic Cooperation to Enhance Electoral Risk Management Ahead of Kenya’s 2027 General Election 

MRPC CEO Brig (Rtd) Dr Robert Kabage held a consultative meeting in Nairobi on 27 November 2025 with Dr Roba Sharamo, Director for Africa and West Asia at International IDEA. Also present was Dr Solomon Njenga, MRPC’s Director of Research and Policy. The strategic engagement focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions, with discussions exploring opportunities for joint research, policy engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. Particular emphasis was placed on electoral preparedness and risk management ahead of Kenya’s 2027 General Election. The meeting reaffirmed MRPC’s commitment to advancing governance excellence, fostering meaningful partnerships with international actors, and contributing to sustainable peace and security across the region. Both teams pledged to pursue future strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange, and initiatives that enhance MRPC’s regional impact. This dialogue laid a strong foundation for continued cooperation between MRPC and International IDEA.
