Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) will participate in the 3rd Meeting of the Community of Practice on Climate, Peace and Security (CoP-CPS) for the Horn of Africa, on 5 November 2026 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).

The meeting will be co-hosted by the United Nations Office of the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa (OSE-Horn) and the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC). It will convene CoP-CPS members and sectoral experts to examine emerging climate-related security risks, strengthen knowledge exchange, and advance anticipatory and conflict-sensitive approaches to climate, peace and security across the Horn of Africa.

Through its participation, MRPC seeks to contribute strategic policy perspectives and security foresight insights that strengthen evidence-based decision-making and regional cooperation in addressing the intersection of climate change, conflict and human security across Greater Eastern Africa.
