Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) will participate in the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) Validation Workshop on the IGAD Common Regional Framework on Climate, Peace and Security (CRF-CPS).

The multisectoral forum will be co-hosted by ICPAC, International Organization for Migration (IOM), and  Life and Peace Institute (LPI) from 12–13 October 2026 at the ICPAC offices in Ngong, Kenya.

This high-level workshop will engage member states’ representatives, climate security experts, think tanks, and grassroots community leaders to explore climate action strategies aimed at mitigating climate-induced conflicts and livelihood insecurity across the Horn of Africa. The forum will deliberate on regional climate frameworks, partnership building, and capacity-building initiatives to advance the Horn of Africa’s strategic climate priorities while addressing critical policy gaps and governance challenges.
