Overview

The Institute for Strategic and Policy Studies (ISPS), in partnership with the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA), is convening a virtual post-G20 webinar to reflect on the outcomes and implications of the 2025 G20 Summit hosted by South Africa—the first ever held on African soil.

Under the theme “Promoting Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability for Inclusive Global Growth,” the Johannesburg G20 Summit marked a turning point in the global narrative about Africa’s place in multilateral governance. The Summit’s outcomes, encapsulated in the Johannesburg Declaration, highlighted Africa’s growing leadership role in shaping global economic and development agendas.

This webinar will provide a platform for policymakers, scholars, and practitioners from Africa, China, Europe, and Latin America to unpack the key takeaways from South Africa’s G20 Presidency, evaluate its global reception, and discuss how Africa can sustain this momentum in international diplomacy and cooperation.
