On 18 November 2025, the Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) hosted Ms. Reem Shalan, Political Officer and representative of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Kenya, at the MRPC premises.

Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, PhD, EBS, CEO of MRPC together with staff teams, held constructive discussions with Ms. Shalan focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Kenya. The meeting emphasized cooperation on environmental and water security in the Horn of Africa, as well as policy dialogues aimed at advancing regional peace and economic growth in Eastern Africa
