Event Theme: Africa’s Development and Security in a Shifting Global Order. The Impact of Global Conflicts and Strategic Repositioning Amid USA-China Tensions.

The Inclusive Society Institute will host a high-level Africa Thinktank Dialogue (ATD) webinar that will bring together leading thinks tanks from across the African continent.

This webinar will explore how shifting geopolitical dynamics, particularly the evolving tensions between the United States and China, are influencing Africa’s development agenda, security priorities, regional cooperation, and positioning within the global order.

Guest speakers will be Dr. Edknowledge Mandikwaza – Southern Africa Centre for Mediation and Extremism Prevention (SACMEP) and Mr. Ibrahim Mukhtar – Heritage Institute for Policy Studies (HIPS).

The discussion will provide a platform for reflection on the implications of global power competition for African states, institutions, and communities. It will also consider how Africa can strengthen resilience, safeguard development gains, and advance its strategic interests in an increasingly complex international environment.
