
On 20 June 2026, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) participated in the Code for Human Rights event organized by Nuru Trust Network at the United States International University-Africa (USIU-A). The forum brought together policymakers, researchers, innovators, youth leaders, and human rights advocates to examine the opportunities and challenges shaping
MRPC was represented by Dr. Solomon Njenga, Director of Research and Programmes who delivered the keynote address, and was accompanied by MRPC Research Fellow, Mr. Alfred Eket. Discussions focused on the evolving relationship between technological innovation, human rights, peace, and security, highlighting the importance of ensuring that technological advancement strengthens social resilience, safeguards human dignity, and contributes to sustainable development. As digital technologies increasingly influence governance, security, and societal transformation, understanding their implications has become a critical policy imperative.
