On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) was pleased to host Lisa Sharland, Senior Fellow and Director of the Protecting Civilians and Human Security Program at the Stimson Centre, a leading global policy think tank based in Washington, D.C., USA.

Ms. Sharland held strategic discussions with members of the MRPC team led by Chief Executive Officer, Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage.

The consultations focused on potential partnership opportunities in international peace, strategic foresight, applied research, and policy innovation across areas of shared interest, including security strategy, geopolitical risk, governance, and climate and environmental security.

The visit reflects MRPC’s continued commitment to building partnerships with like-minded global institutions in a bid to strengthen its capacity to produce evidence-based, decision-oriented policy solutions and practical tools for governments, multilateral institutions, civil society, the private sector, and other strategic stakeholders.
