In a shared commitment to strengthening evidence-based research across Africa, Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Afrobarometer (AB), a pan-African survey research network and the continent’s leading provider of public opinion data.
Anchored in advancing knowledge exchange, policy research, and capacity development, the partnership will support deeper understanding of citizen perceptions and evolving societal dynamics, while enhancing analytical approaches to security foresight and governance
challenges.
On 26 March, 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations was formally signed by MRPC Chief Executive Officer, Brig. (Rtd) Dr Robert Kabage, and Afrobarometer Chief Operating Officer, Mr Felix Biga, during the 4th Edition of the 2026 CEO Conclave and Investors Forum held at the Pullman Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The forum was co-hosted by the Africa Asia Middle East Chamber of Commerce (AAMECC) and Afrobarometer.
The signing was witnessed by MRPC Director of Research and Programmes, Dr Solomon Njenga, alongside other representatives from both institutions, AAMECC Board members, and participating CEO delegates.
During the forum, Dr Kabage delivered a presentation highlighting MRPC’s ongoing research initiatives and emphasised that collaboration with Afrobarometer signals a roadmap towards innovative and impactful research.
The partnership seeks to harness Afrobarometer’s expertise in public attitude surveys with MRPC’s regional security foresight and conflict risk analytics in a bid to advance evidence-based policymaking.
