Event Theme: Navigating Regional Resilience and Security in an Era of Declining International Aid

About the Event

Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) will be participating in the Horn of Africa Security Dialogue 2026. The forum will be hosted by the HORN International Institute for Strategic Studies, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Regional Programme Security Dialogue for East Africa, and will take place from 12–13 March 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill, Nairobi.

Participants

Invited participants include senior regional and global policy makers, diplomats, security experts and researchers. The forum will provide a platform to examine the implications of declining international aid on regional peace, security, and humanitarian operations in the region. It will also explore policy options for institutional reforms to enhance resilience and African ownership of peace processes in the context of shrinking international support.
