On 12th November 2025, the Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) hosted the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES) for a strategic partnership engagement. During the event, Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Robert Kabage, CEO of MRPC, and Dr. David Awolala, PhD, Director of Climate Policy and Technical Services at AGNES, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening climate resilience and capacity building across Greater Eastern Africa, and the continent at large.

Representatives from both the MRPC and AGNES teams held insightful discussions on climate change initiatives, culminating in a momentous signing ceremony that reaffirmed our shared commitment to advancing collaborative knowledge platforms.

The partnership seeks to explore the synergies between climate change, conflict, and geopolitics, with the overarching goal of equipping stakeholders and empowering decision-makers at national, regional, and global levels to respond proactively to emerging challenges.
