In response to the increasing threats posed by violent extremism in Somalia and the Eastern Africa region, the East African Institute for Peace and Governance (EAIPG) and the Mashariki Research and Policy Centre (MRPC) will offer a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping East African communities and government employees with the necessary skills to prevent and counter violent extremism. The spread of violent extremism with the potential to lead to terrorism has been exacerbated by several factors including; ideology, governance, new media technologies, and the mobility of violent extremism groups. This training will focus on enhancing understanding of radicalization processes, developing preventive strategies, and promoting community resilience.
